DLL files are Dynamic Link Libraries used by applications you run on your computer.  We do not usually need to bother ourselves with them.  But, sooner or later, Windows will alert us that a program cannot run because a DLL file is missing or corrupted.

If it is a Microsoft product, you can look for the missing DLL file here:  http://support.microsoft.com/dllhelp/

For other applications, try here:  http://www.dll-files.com/

You will also see a button to get a free Registry scan at this second site.  If your computer is working properly, except perhaps for one program for which you need a DLL file, take a pass on the scan.

On a completely different subject, are you looking for a job?  No, I do not have one for you, sorry, but I do have a bit of advice.

Before sending out your resumé, do a search on your name at a few popular search engines, to see what is publicly available about you online.  It is a good bet your prospective employer is doing the same.

If you find anything nasty or negative, or just plain wrong, go to the source and try to have it removed before any serious job-hunting.
