The other day a hacker broke into an eBay server and suspended the accounts of a number of users, the company revealed.

eBay maintains that they were able to block the crook quickly, and that no permanent damage was done.  Nor did the hacker gain access to any sensitive information. 

The company said some particular servers were accessed, not its site servers.  When asked for clarification of what this might mean, no response was immediately forthcoming.

Some affected eBay members were contacted by a hacker named Vladuz, warning that they had been targeted because they posted comments critical of him (Vladuz).
